This represents a total of 405,892 acres of land for sale in the state (accounting for around one percent of land in the state). This reflects a decrease in sales activity over August 2018 data. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $9.1 million. Park County recorded the most land sales recently in the state. Wyoming ranks among the country's ten largest states in terms of size, covering an area of 97,818 square miles (63 million acres). In total, 97,093 square miles (99 percent) of the state is land, while the remaining 720 square miles is covered by water. With numerous opportunities to hunt species including deer, boar and wild turkey, hunting land was the most common type of land for sale in Alabama. The state has also been ranked among the ten best states for the cost of living by U.S. News & World Report. In terms of its size, Alabama is the country's 30th-largest state, covering an area of 52,423 square miles (34 million acres). Of this area, 50,645 square miles (97 percent) is made up of land, while the remaining 1,775 square miles comprises water.
