The most expensive piece of land listed for sale on Lands of America recently was $14 million, though the median price for land, ranches and rural property in Missouri came in at $399,322. The average price of land advertised for sale in Missouri was $549,186. There was 5,320 acres of sold land in Missouri recorded over the past 30 days through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a decrease in sales activity over data from the previous period. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $20.2 million. The Show-Me State might as well be the Show-Off State when it comes to outdoor recreation. Missouri's sprawling Mark Twain National Forest has 1.4 million acres of land open to public hunting, in addition to numerous state conservation areas as well as private land available to hunt. Missouri is also home to the country's longest rail-trail conversion, the 240-mile Katy Trail, which follows the course of the Missouri River.
