Lake: The crown jewel of Eureka Ranch is its centrally located 15+/- acre bass lake. Designated as Jim Ned Creek Watershed SCS Site No. 27, the dam was constructed across Little Mud Creek in 1962. Today, this outstanding body of water continues to provide exceptional bass fishing, is a seasonal stop for migratory duck and geese, and is a reliable source of water for wildlife and livestock. Under current ownership, the fishery has been improved with the addition of Florida strain largemouth bass and forage bait species such as bluegill, redear sunfish, and fathead minnows. Reportedly, bass weighing in at 8 pounds have been caught recently and the fish are on the grow. Hunting & Wildlife: The owners efforts to manage the native whitetail herd have proven to produce a number of quality buck in the150-160 range. The property is primarily bow hunted, but also provides multiple rifle setups with Atascosa tower blinds offering distant targets at feeders across canyons and fields.
